Another Love of Mine.........

Hi everybody :)

I hope you are all having a lovely day .... even with all of the silly rain :)

Today I thought I'd share with you another love of mine....doing up old yucky-looking furniture :)

One reason why I loves the carboot sales is that you can get old furniture for pretty cheap :) My boyfriend G has now bought me two footstools for about 2 pounds each!! :) Today I thought I would show you what I have done to jazz one of them up :) (I forgot to take a picture before i started to do it up because i am silly and got too excited about my little re-upholstering job....so it was brown and cream with strange little chinese ladies on before...not really to my taste) :)

My mum very kindly painted the legs of the footstool white and then i covered it in some YUMMY Liberty fabric which i found in a little antiques shop in the town where I live :) AMAZING FIND!! :) I then added some pom-pom trim around the edge (because I LOVE the pom pom trim) :)

That is one of my kitty cats Rosie posing with the footstool bytheway :) She seems to be guarding it from me :) Both of my cats do love to lie on things that I have made....covering them in hairs and dirty footprints!! :) naughty kittys :)

Thank you for looking :) I've just got a new wooden stool so I shall be jazzing that up soon too :)

Big hugs and smiles :)

The Secret Life of Birds....The Hidden Rooms

Gooood afternoon :)

Here's the latest installment of the naughty little bird thieves. After they have done their searching for treasures they store them and play with them in secret hidden rooms. These designs were intended for the interiors of tents and i wanted them to have a "Mary-Poppins" esque feel, with children being surprised at how many treasures the birds have hidden. :) The intention for these designs was also for them to be interactive, for example with pockets in for children to hide their own treasures, just like the birds. :) Also, some of the pegs on the designs would be real, so children could hang up their own little drawings :)

"Home Tweet Home"

"The Treasure Cupboard"

"A Birdy Tea-Party"

"The Bird Art Gallery"

"Who Spilt the Tea?"

"Boxes Full of Treasure"

So there you go :) Some more designs from "The Secret Life of Birds" :) I hope you like them :) The birds have definately stolen quite a lot of treasures :) :) :)

I'm starting a rather exciting new project today :) So I will let you know how that goes :)

Thank you for stopping by :)

Big hugs and smiles :)

A Friendly Royal Guard :)

Hi Everyone :)

I hope you all had a lovely weekend :) I went out for a yummy spanish lunch with my lovely friend Amy in Beverley on Saturday and then Sunday was spent with my boyfriend G, browsing a carboot sale (we love the carboot sales) and watching darts :) :) :) lovely weekend :)

Today I thought I would show you another little cross stitch project that was also a present for a lovely friend of mine :)

This little sewing kit came from Cross Stitcher Magazine, I added the tartan ribbon to jazz it up even more :)

I hope you all have a lovely day :) I'm now off to continue with a rather large cross stitch project that I've just started for another birthday present :)

Big hugs and smiles :)
